When it comes to pageantry, it is easy to turn it into a vanity contest, but with the Miss Universe Nigeria contest, we can tell that it's way more than that. The contest put together by the Silverbird group has just officially begun, and we can say without a doubt that all the contestants are winners in our books.
The Miss Universe Nigeria contest started its unveiling process back in May, and the screening took place at the Silverbird Galleria in Abuja, on August 18. The best part is the inclusivity of the contest, as the eligibility criteria allowed contestants who are single, married, single mothers, or divorced to participate. It also included slender or plus-size contestants between the ages of 18 and 28.
37 contestants from all states and the FCT were selected after the screening exercise to compete for the maiden edition of the 2023 Miss Universe Nigeria. The winner will get the chance to represent Nigeria internationally at Miss Universe later this year in El Salvador. There will also be other compensations such as brand deals, cars, and cash prizes.
