Tems has once again made history! At the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, the Nigerian singer-songwriter secured her second Grammy win, taking home the Best African Music Performance award for her hit song “Love Me JeJe.”

This achievement is particularly sentimental, as it comes just a day before her mother’s birthday. In her emotional acceptance speech, Tems expressed gratitude to God, her team, and her family, saying:

“Dear God, thank you so much for putting me on this stage and bringing me this team. Tomorrow is my mum’s birthday, and this is her first Grammy’s, and I just want to thank you, mum, because she’s really done a lot for me and my brother. I want to thank my team, thank you so much. To God be the glory because honestly, he’s changed my life so much. Thank you so much, thank you God.”

Tems first made waves at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards in 2023, when she won Best Melodic Rap Performancefor her collaboration on Future’s “Wait For You” featuring Drake. Now, in 2025, she has eight Grammy nominationsunder her belt.

Apart from her win for “Love Me JeJe,” Tems was also nominated for: Best R&B Song for “Burning”, Best Global Music Album for “Born in the Wild”

Tems is proof that you can shine bright like a diamond if you just take that bold step, and we love it.
