As avid and chaotic binge-watchers, we’ve come up with a list of some of the best TV shows that Netflix offers. Keyword being some, not to sound dramatic –  we’re still on a journey to discover even more in the coming days.

Our list ranges from action-filled TV shows with a touch of romance, to heartfelt family dramas that will have you sobbing every episode, and then there’s the juiciest stuff in there as well. This list is for everyone and anyone with good taste, and picky binge-watchers too. Without boring you off into the sunset, here are 10 Netflix shows to binge-watch right now, or at least have on your radar. 

1. The Night Agent

Following the intense success of The Night Agent Season 2, we’re still not over the second season of the show.  One of the best thriller series on Netflix, The Night Agent offers intense action and gripping suspense. Created by Shawn Ryan and based on the novel of the same name by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent follows FBI agent Peter Sutherland played by Gabriel Basso, who works at the White House as a Night Action telephone operator and is thrown into the very deep of a mole conspiracy after picking up a night action call that changes everything.

Peter Sutherland now has one mission, which is more than one mission. He must figure out who the mole is among high-level government officials, he must save the girl at the other end of that very important night action call, Rose, who just watched her uncle and aunt get murdered. Most importantly, he must save the nation.

2. The Recruit

The Recruit dances to a similar beat as The Night Agent, as someone who isn’t into the thrill of action movies, these have to be my top two, and it does help that the internet’s boyfriend, Noah Centineo is the star of the show. The Recruit is an American spy adventure television series created by Alexi Hawley for Netflix. The show follows Owen Hendricks (Noah Centineo), a CIA lawyer who becomes involved in massive international conflicts with dangerous parties after an asset tries to expose her relationship with the agency.

 If you love action-packed yet fun Netflix originals to watch, The Recruit should be on your list. It is exactly what you need to take your minds off the stress of life, it has its angsty spells here and there, but spoiler alert, you’ll be fine and having the time of your life as you binge-watch the recruit.

3. Parenthood

Parenthood has a special place in my heart as far as American family dramas go, it will have you crying with every episode because it is just that good, it is one of the best drama series on Netflix, Parenthood is a classic family drama that pulls at the heartstrings . In true old but gold fashion, "Parenthood" follows the lives of three generations of the Braverman family: the patriarch Ezekiel "Zeek" Braverman, the matriarch Camille Braverman, and the families of their four children Adam, Sarah, Crosby, and Julia. The whole family is uniquely beautiful with their occasional family drama here and there, but at the very soul of it is a reminder for everyone of what family truly means.

Developed by Jason Katims, expect to see some of your favourite stars like Gilmore Girls actress, Lauren Graham as Sarah Braverman-Holt, Dax Shepard as Crosby Braverman, Mae Whitman as Amber Holt, Joy Bryant as Jasmine Trussell, Peter Krause as Adam Braverman, and our other beloved stars of the show.

4. American Primeval 

American Primeval
American Primeval according to Rotten Tomatoes is a story about a mother and son fleeing from their past from a found family while confronting a harsh landscape of freedom and cruelty in the American West. With a Rotten Tomatoes score of 68%, it is fair to say that this American Primeval is worth watching. Spoiler alert though, it is not for the faint of heart, it is a historical drama that might get into the nitty-gritty of it all. But one thing is for sure, it has a story that will have you gripped from beginning to end.

5. Mismatched

Mismatched is an Indian teen series that will have you squealing if that’s your thing. It follows two teenagers who have a very disastrous meet-cute after the chaotic attempt by their parents to try and set them up. At first, the show highlights the Indian culture of finding a partner and matching them up, but with these two tech geeks at a summer program, their failed parental setup might just lead to something more,

6. Young, Famous & African

Young, Famous & African
Young, Famous & African is where all the chaos is, this is one of the best reality TV shows on Netflix, showcasing African luxury and drama. This reality TV show takes a deep dive into some of Africa’s most famous and richest faces as they enjoy life, cause trouble, and most importantly, live a chaos-filled life. The first two seasons were a hit, and with Young, Famous & African season 3 out now, there’s even more chaos. One particular storyline follows Annie Macauley Idibia and her famous Nigerian musician husband Tuface Idibia whose married life has been put on blast one too many times, and with some good reasons. This season also adds a couple of new cast members to the show, including Nollywood actress Ini Edo, making it a memorable and drama-filled watch.

7. Good Girls

The storyline for Good Girls starts as a fever dream, but soon enough, it’s a fever dream you cannot get enough of. Good Girls is an American crime comedy-drama television series that follows the lives of three suburban mothers who resort to robbing a supermarket and soon enough get involved with a crime boss and the FBI. This is the type of show that only comes around once in a lifetime, Beth, Ruby, and Annie are all experiencing financial issues and they decide to rob a supermarket.

The craziest part is when things get a little bit more complicated, and they start to venture into more criminal activities. Then there’s the intense yearning between Beth (Christina Hendricks)  and the crime boss, Christopher (Manny Montana) that will leave you wanting more

8. Get Even

Get Even
Get Even is an underrated teen series that might just be for you if you fancy yourself a good teenage drama TV show. The series was adapted by Holly Phillips from the book series Don't Get Mad by Gretchen McNeil, and follows a group of teenagers who form an unlikely and unique bond to expose bullies at their school. This is the kind of show that you watch in one sitting because it is just that good.

9. One Of Us Is Lying

One of Us is Lying has to be the queen of all good mystery teen shows, it has the angst in full blast and it will leave you guessing who the killer is at every step. To break it down for you, One of Us Is Lying is an American teen drama mystery television series developed by Erica Saleh

The series is based on the 2017 novel of the same name by Karen M. McManus which follows five high school students who somehow end up in detention one day, and then one of them dies under the most suspicious circumstances. It stars Mark McKenna as Simon, the deceased student, and Annalisa Cochrane, Chibuikem Uche, Marianly Tejada, and Cooper van Grootel as the main suspects and the four students who witnessed Simon die. They become suspects in the investigation, and they stick together forming an unlikely friendship to uncover what happened to Simon. 

10. Dynasty

Dynasty has our hearts through and through, and it's the perfect watch for any day of the week, especially Sundays. Dynasty stars Victorious star Lizzie Gillies as Fallon Carrington, the most badass businesswoman you’ll ever come across. The show follows the dramatic lives of her rich and famous family as they go through business disasters, chaotic and sweet love stories, crazy deaths and accidents, and so much more.  A must-watch Netflix series for fans of glamorous family dramas, Dynasty is full of shocking twists and high-stakes business feuds. 

There’s never a boring moment with Dynasty, it’s always one thing after the other in their beautiful mansion and chaotic life. If you’re looking for a rich family empire drama with all the modern secrets and twists to it, this is sure the one for you. But don’t get it wrong, Dynasty also knows how to pull off a good love story too.
