Yellowjackets on NetflixA survival story with a twist, Yellowjackets switches between a high school soccer team’s wilderness adventure and the haunting aftermath 25 years later. With its Emmy nominated cast this show is as good as it is scary. Basically, a girls’ high school soccer team on their way to an out of state competition, get in a plane crash and have to find a way to survive in a wilderness, unfortunately for them, surviving in a wilderness is much harder than they think and things get brutal real fast. The casting of this series is elite, the storyline is high school but so much more refreshing.
Derry Girls NetflixIn 1990s Northern Ireland during the Troubles, Derry Girls follows a group of Catholic schoolgirls, and James getting through adolescence in the most hilarious way possible. Lisa McGee really did her big one with this sitcom that is funny, almost relatable and lovely. Derry Girls also tackles the sensitive political subject matter of that time, it blends in family, and the coming of age trope, all in one, in a light hearted manner. It’s the kind of sitcom that will actually have you laughing the whole time, and there are certain scenes that will remain engraved in your heart forever.
