NetflixAs a mega Bridgerton fan, I pride myself on geeking out about the fact that I’ve been here from day one of Bridgerton Season 1. The days of Daphne and Simon, and the line that shook up the entire world, or at least, the internet world. “I burn for you”.
If you’re like me, you will remember that Saphne was the beginning of the Bridgerton series. Then we had Kanthony, and we cannot forget Polin. But there’s just something about Benophie that had the hopeless romantic in me bursting out for air, and more air.
The truth is, Bridgerton has always been queen in the romance department, and in this author’s humble opinion, the new season has done the best job of delivering what romance looks like in the Regency era. Bridgerton season 4 not only delivers romantic love confessions and sexy bathtub scenes (wink, wink), but it also explores in great detail the idea that love is never truly enough when it comes to society and its archaic rules. It also puts a brightly colored pin on heavy subject matter such as loss, grief, and everything in between.
Bridgerton Season 4: Part 1 was the gift that kept on giving, but then we were left wanting more, and by the time Bridgerton Season 4 Part 2 rolled in, we were left swooning, crying, laughing, and maybe feeling a little reckless. Here are all the reasons why Bridgerton Season 4 might be the best yet.
The Cinderella Effect x Pride & Prejudice

Two of my favorite things in the world might possibly be the Cinderella story and the Jane Austen masterpiece that has been perfectly adapted on screen, Pride & Prejudice. Sophie Baek, played by Yerin Ha, is the perfect cinderella archetype, and it was perfectly delivered by the first half of the season. The yearning of Sophie, the secret she holds about her identity, and then there’s that special something about her that makes you want to protect her at all costs. All of these things are what make the story even better.
Then we have Luke Thompson’s portrayal of Benedict Bridgerton. Call me biased or whatever, but Benedict Bridgerton has always taken the top spot when it comes to the Bridgerton men, and this season further reinforces that favoritism. He delivers his romantic love confession in a way that is so uncanny to Matthew McFayden’s Mr Darcy. From the intense monologues, to the hearty and breathy ‘I love you’ line that was uttered three perfect times.
We mean it when we say that Yerin Ha and Luke Thompson delivered performances that left us breathless everysingle time. The romance was undeniable, the sparks flew, the tension and angst left us burning, and the pining was on a whole new level. At the end of the day, no one does grovelling and romance quite like Sophie and Benedict Bridgerton.
Bridgerton Season 4 Most Heartbreaking Storyline Yet

Bridgerton Season 4, part 2, was definitely one for the books when it comes to romance, but the same could be said about its portrayal of a certain someone’s loss. Without giving any spoilers, this storyline wasn’t entirely a surprise. However, the execution and storytelling involved will absolutely leave you ugly crying.
There is something magical about watching the Bridgerton clan come together for the ones that they love. This time was no different. They gathered to mourn, and the juxtaposition between mother and daughter strikes a heavy blow to this storyline. All I can say is, the scenes are perfectly carried out, and Hannah Dodd’s rent must have been due because her emotional range in the portrayal of Francesca Bridgerton needs to be studied.
Who is the New Lady Whistledown in Bridgerton?

One of the biggest mysteries we are left with at the end of Bridgerton season 4 is the reveal of a brand new Lady Whistledown that isn’t Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). The major plot points of the earlier season of Bridgerton had us hooked with the identity of Lady Whistledown. That was until we found out that it was Penelope, but by the end of season four, she made it clear that she was retiring her title.
Now, it is clear that there is a new Lady Whistledown in the ton, and if you’re wondering who it might be, we have some clues for you. Starting strong, showrunner Jess Brownell has stated that Lady Whistledown is “definitely someone, or someones, in the world.” This means that we are probably very familiar with the character who takes over the quill, and so far, the internet sleuths are throwing some names around. From Queen Charlotte’s most loyal servant, Brimsley, to the Featherington’s sharpwitted housekeeper, Mrs. Varley, and even the Bridgerton’s last sibling, Hyacinth.
The truth is, we wouldn’t know who Lady Whistledown is, at least not yet, and in a way that brings back a certain mystique to the show. There aren’t a lot of clues so far on who it might be, and that’s because the writers are being very intentional about who it is and how they deliver the new identity.
Bridgerton Season 4 Had Nostalgia to the Brim

First of all, the Kanthony breadcrumbs this season would absolutely leave you wanting some kind of sequel, just so you could have an inside look into the lives of Anthony and Kate Bridgerton now that they are in India. One of the sadder facts of Bridgerton as seasons have gone by is that once a new season rolls in, the stars of the previous season somehow disappear into thin air. I guess that’s the reality of life, once people get married and begin their lives, they are never really home anymore.
Which is why we will take any crumbs of Kanthony we can get, and hopefully someday we can get some much-needed crumbs of Saphne too.
Queen Charlotte and Lady Danbury Friendship

Another great part of Bridgerton season 4, part 2, was certainly the friendship between Queen Charlotte and Lady Danbury. There’s no doubt about the true friendship between these two characters, and through all four seasons of Bridgerton and also Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, we have watched their friendship grow and bloom. While their friendship had a few snafus this season, by the end of the season, we are certain that the beauty of their friendship lies in their journey and evolution, from their young age till now. Like every season before, Golda Rushevel and Adjoah Andoh brought a certain warmth to round up the entire series, and their friendship remains pivotal in the world of Bridgerton.
If you’ve stuck it out this far, you probably agree that Bridgerton season 4 is the most romantic yet, and don’t even get me started on those 30 seconds after the credits at the end of Episode 8. If you haven’t watched Bridgerton Season 4, what exactly are you waiting for?
Bridgerton Season 4: Part 2 is now streaming on Netflix.
