There’s been a great roll-in of movies from April all the way to May, the stack is limitless and we’re loving it. From Anne Hathaway’s comeback to the rom-com genre, to John Green’s book adaptation, there’s an endless list of exciting new movies to watch today.

Turtles All The Way Down

Based on John Green’s best selling novel, Turtles All The Way Down, this movie follows the life of Aza Holmes played by Isabela Merced. Aza is a 16-year-old struggling with obsessive compulsive disorder which leaves her in a constant fight or flight mood. With her best friend Daisy, played by Cree Cicchino by her side, she contemplates the possibility of finding love despite the nature of her condition. The movie also stars Ginny and Georgia’s Felix Mallard, Never Have I Ever’s Poorna Jagannathan, Devious Maid’s Judy Reyes, among other stars. 

The Idea Of You

The Idea Of You
The Idea Of You is a romantic comedy based on a novel of the same name by Robinne Lee. It follows the incredible Anne Hathaway who plays a mother that falls in love with the lead singer of a boy band named August Moon. Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine put pure joy and swoon worthiness back in the romcom genre with this gem. It’s definitely worth the watch if you’re looking for something cute with an amazing soundtrack and super interesting.

Prom Dates
Prom Dates stars Antonia Gentry, Julia Lester, Terry Hu, and a whole star studded cast. It follows the story of Jess and Hannah who made a pact at 13-years-old to have the perfect prom. However, things take a turn 24 hours before the D-day, they don’t have prom dates anymore and now they have one night to find new dates and make their 13-year-old dreams come true.

Mother Of The Bride

Mother of the Bride
Another noteworthy romcom out now is Mother Of The Bride, directed by Mark Waters and written by Robin Bernheim, this is a story about a mother stunned by her daughter’s wedding announcement, soon enough she finds out that the father of the groom is actually the man who broke her heart years ago — what could possibly go wrong? The movie stars Brooke Shields, Benjamin Bratt, Chad Michael Murray, Miranda Cosgrove, Rachael Harris, among others. 

Challengers 

Challengers
Challengers has to be one of the most anticipated movies of 2024. The tennis-themed movie stars Zendaya as Tashi, a former tennis prodigy, now coach who turned her husband into a tennis champion. But with a losing streak in the way, he must face his ex-best friend who is also Tashi’s ex-boyfriend. Zendaya stars alongside Mike Faist, and Josh O’Connor for this raunchy, mind-bending film.
