Ginny & Georgia Season 3 Leans Into the Chaos: And It’s Their Best Season Yet

When Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia first dropped, I can’t lie, I was one of those guilty pleasure viewers groaning in displeasure at the cringe fest I thought awaited me. Let’s face it, the first two seasons of Ginny & Georgia had their fair share of cringey moments, and I thought the third season would be no different, but what we got instead was trauma and a very good cry, no complaints here. I loved every second and every episode.

Ginny & Georgia Season 3 wasn’t trying to be perfect, instead, it thrived in the messiness. Every character had an interesting storyline that you couldn’t just take your eyes off, and that’s the kind of storytelling we all crave.

Since it came on our screen in 2021, Ginny & Georgia has become one of the biggest titles on Netflix. The story follows Georgia (Brianne Howey) and her daughter Ginny (Antonia Gentry) as they navigate their chaotic mother-daughter relationship in a picture perfect New England town. Ginny & Georgia is stuffed with drama, it’s no wonder the audience loves it, but there’s a certain massive pour of love that its third season has attracted. 

Ginny & Georgia Season 2 ended on a cliffhanger, as Georgia was arrested over the death of Tom Fuller. With Season 3 of Ginny & Georgia, the story spirals into even more chaos as we see Georgia go through a murder trial. Things are looking quite bleak for Georgia as the season goes on, but by the end of Episode 9, everything changes. Without giving away too many spoilers, here’s why we think Ginny & Georgia Season 3 is the best yet! 

In Ginny & Georgia Season 3, There’s Hope For Georgia’s Love Life

If there’s one thing Ginny & Georgia fans have been dying in anticipation of, it’s the Georgia and Joe ship. Long before Georgia Miller came to Wellsbury, she had already met Joe. In the previous season of Ginny & Georgia, we watched that one flashback scene where they met as teenagers at a rest stop.

Teen Georgia gave teen Joe life advice, and he gave her his glasses, and neither of them ever forgot that day. Joe from Ginny & Georgia, played by Raymond Ablack, is the perfect man. He’s head over heels in love with Georgia, and for the first time in three seasons, there is hope yet that this ship will finally sail. 

This season of Ginny & Georgia is the messiest yet for Georgia Miller. The whole world is in on her messy past, and even when everyone is judging her, Joe never does. If that isn’t true love, I don’t know what is. Their love story blossoming this season is one of the reasons why we’re still obsessing over Ginny & Georgia Season 3, and fingers crossed, the fourth season keeps the love growing, especially in regards to that baby bomb dropped at the end. 

Ginny & Georgia Tackles Mental Health In a Realistic Way 

Ginny & Georgia might be known for their cringey singing scenes and over-the-top teen drama, but one thing’s for sure: this season nailed it when it came to the realistic portrayal of mental health. 

Some of the most gut-wrenching scenes that would have you crying your eyes out include story arcs surrounding mental health. Whether it was discussions surrounding Ginny’s self-harm, or Georgia finally speaking to a therapist, and then there are the twins, Marcus and Max. 

Their character arc was by far my favorite this season. Marcus’s depression and Maxine’s fallout with the MANG friends group broke my heart into a million tiny pieces. These storylines have sparked massive conversations online.

We literally watched Marcus Baker played by Felix Mallard go from the brooding bad boy to one of the most emotionally raw characters on the show. There’s so many scenes in which this character excels, you just have to witness it for yourself. All I can say is, Felix Mallard deserves his flowers for bringing such tortured feelings to life on screen.

Then we have Max Baker, one of the loudest characters in Ginny & Georgia. The Maxine centered episode was a breath of fresh air  but also heartbreaking. It’s a relatable look into friendship groups and how the feeling of being left out could make you feel down. Most importantly, the fact that Maxine always has to be the bubbly one, and the put together one, shows how disastrous it is when to be put in one box, meanwhile on the inside, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. 

Each Episode of Ginny & Georgia Season 3 Tugs On Your Heartstrings 

Oh did we mention that you would cry every single episode? Because you absolutely would. Ginny & Georgia Season 3 captured the emotional stories effortlessly. There’s murder trials, friendship breakdowns, teen pregnancy, depression, eating disorders, sad poetry, love stories, betrayals, and the whole shebang. 

Ginny & Georgia Season 3 Finale Is The Juiciest Cliffhanger Yet

In true Ginny & Georgia style, we were left with one too many cliffhangers to hold onto. It’s a shame that we have to wait about two years to get Ginny & Georgia Season 4. There’s so much to anticipate for the next season. Like, who is Georgia’s baby daddy going to be? Fingers crossed, it’s Joe. 

At its core, Ginny & Georgia is about survival, secrets, and the complicated love between mother and daughters. The scariest part about Ginny & Georgia Season 3 was watching Ginny morph into Georgia in a way. Georgia had given up, and Ginny took over in a way that was almost too evil. Poor Austin Miller will forever be changed. 

This season didn’t miss a beat, and that’s what makes it a perfect watch. So if you haven’t already, press play on Ginny & Georgia Season 3, and hopefully, Season 4 of Ginny & Georgia will be worth the wait.
