The Life List

The Life List on Netflix has stolen the hearts of viewers everywhere, and when we say we’re obsessed with it, we actually mean it. The Life List is a romantic comedy with a heartfelt touch of family drama. It was written and directed by Adam Brooks and adapted from the novel by Lori Nelson Spielman, with a star-studded cast that includes Sofia Carson, Kyle Allen, and Connie Britton. It follows the story of  Alex Rose (Carson), who loses her mother and must now complete a life list she wrote as a teenager to be given access to her inheritance. The lawyer in charge of executing her mother’s will, Brad (Kyle Allen), helps Alex on this journey by giving her pre-recorded video messages from her mother every time she completes a task on the list, and he also provides emotional support to an extent.

While going through this emotional journey, Alex faces personal challenges, discovers hidden family secrets, and finds true love. The Life List is a true inspiration to everyone trying to find themselves in their 20s, by the end of it, you’re crying your heart out, squealing at the love connection, and also learning valuable life lessons including the ‘true love’ test which is boiled down to 4 questions which Alex makes use of at the end of the movie to find out who her true love is.

What Are The Four Questions To Ask To Find True Love According To The Life List?

In The Life List, Alex’s life list is filled with tasks such as, become a teacher, read Moby Dick, and our personal favourite, find true love. These four questions came in handy for Alex at the crux of the movie because (spoiler alert) she found true love, and calling him perfect would be an understatement. In the real world, it is even harder to find the one, especially with all the distractions that come with social media and the whole shebang. These four questions might come in handy for you if you’re trying to decipher your love life and considering dating someone, or even before you say I do.

The four questions from The Life List you should ask yourself about your partner or potential partner are:

Is he kind? Can I tell him everything in my heart? Does he help me become the best version of myself? Can I imagine him being the father of my children? These questions might seem unserious, because we’ve learnt it from a fictional work of art, but if you think about it. These four questions cover four deep areas of every relationship because we all want someone who is kind, someone you can be yourself around, and who will be a great partner to you and a great father to your children.

The Life List is a great movie that inspires you to get your life together, which is why people in their 20s will strongly resonate with the story. The main character is almost 30 and is on a journey to figure out her professional life, love life, and everything in between. The movie perfectly covers both these areas, and by the end of it, we see that Alex makes use of these four questions to find out for sure who her true love is, and it’s safe to say that these questions give you something to think about for the benefit of your love life.
