It doesn’t matter if you love makeup or hate it, we can all agree that there are some makeup trends that just made perfect sense aesthetically. The Makeup trends became even more popular this year, so we can say without a doubt that they are worth trying.

Like everything else on this planet, change is the only thing that is certain. The beauty industry has seen a plethora of changes for centuries, even before TikTok and Instagram, women all over the world have always shared a common beauty look amongst themselves, we’re all connected in a lot of ways, and makeup is just one of those ways.

Not every girl loves makeup, and that’s fine, but if you’re here, it either means you do or you’re on a journey to know more. Whatever the case may be, we love it for you. Here are a few makeup trends of 2023, that we’re totally obsessed with.

The Glossy Lip x Liner Combo

Every black girl knows this look, as a matter of fact, this isn’t exactly a new trend, it's more like a comeback trend that never should have left in the first place. There’s a lot of comfort in this look, knowing you don’t have to stress with lipstick colors, and you can just simply get your gloss and black lip liner, and you’re good to go.

This look is nude at its best, and doesn’t love that clean girl aesthetic, the best part about this look is how easy it is to achieve, and literally anyone could pull it off. It is simple but sophisticated, and we’re loving it.

The Minimalistic Look

As someone who doesn’t do a lot of makeup, the minimalist makeup look is actually perfect. You don't have to try so hard or do so much, it involves very little technique and even lesser products than usual.

The best part is, while it is a much simpler look, it has a huge impact on your overall aesthetic, you don’t have to worry about looking too plain, because you don’t. Sometimes less is more, and in this case, it is.

Graphic Eyeliner

It’s about time we upped our eyeliner game, this isn’t a new trend, but it feels newer and better every year. If you’re still stuck in Euphoria High, then you’re just as obsessed with this makeup look, and we do not blame you. All the cool kids are trying out graphic eyeliners, and we can’t lie, it is pretty good to look at.

Shine-Shine

If you grew up in Nigeria, you know what shine-shine means, basically anything that glitters or has some shine to it, in this case, it is rhinestones or anything that goes. The girlies didn’t come to play, making use of bedazzled stones to improve eye make up is genius, it’s the best thing since sliced bread.

These makeup gems can be traced to 2022, but really, they started to shine this year. You cannot go wrong with the rhinestone, eye shadow, and eye liner combo. It’s just not humanly possible.

Blush is blushing

There was once upon a time where blush wasn’t everyone’s thing, and probably a time where it died down, but now it is back, and all the girlies are doing it, thank God! It doesn’t matter what your skin color or shade is, we can all use blush and look absolutely stunning, just don’t overdo it.

Soft Looks

The bold red lipstick color is making a huge comeback like we’ve never seen before, and we’re not just talking about how it used to be, you know… the regular matte red lipstick? No, it’s back and it's bolder than ever.

This trend takes the bold red color and adds a little glossy look to it. It’s not just the bold color of this look that is striking, it’s the glossy finish and how perfectly the combination looks together, giving you a vibrant pop of color.
