Going on a first date with someone could absolutely be nerve racking, but you don’t have to do it all on your own, there’s no guarantee that the date will be the beginning of forever with this person, but instead of worrying about the extra details, let’s figure out what kind of date you would like to start off this potential love story with.

The angst that comes with first dates is crazy, especially if you’re meeting for the first time, so the trick is to go for activities that would be comfortable, yet exciting for both parties. It’s easy to ruin a first date by picking the worst place or activity, if you’re lucky enough, this date will go off without a hitch, and sparks will fly all through.

Let’s get to the date ideas, shall we?

Ice Cream Date

An Ice cream that is easy and super breezy, there’s no pressure to be anything but yourself when there’s ice cream involved (according to us). Going to get ice cream is one of the cutest first date ideas, and you cannot tell us otherwise. Just think about it, there’s a certain kind of rush that ice cream just gives, there’s no pressure, and if anyone gets ice cream on their lip, it could become a very cute moment. All we ask is that you find out if your date likes ice cream (Who doesn’t, right?) before you decide to plan the date.

A Picnic Date

Picnics are the ultimate definition of cute dates. Picture this, your date in a sun-dress, or you in a sun-dress, any way the cookie crumbles, it will still be cute. With a picnic date, the environment has to be serene, so make sure you choose a spot or a park that is pretty and picturesque. After that, all you need is a cute  picnic blanket, some drinks, snacks, and you’re good to go.

Hiking Date

Hiking is certainly not everyone’s cup of tea, but if you’re going on a first date with this person, surely you’ve done your homework. Would they like a hiking date? If not, skip to the next date idea.  A hiking date could be a perfect bonding activity if you’re both into it, if your date isn’t, it could be an instant turn off and mood killer, and we don’t want that.

Hiking is perfect, you get to talk and walk, and if you think about it, it’s sort of like an adventure. If you play your cards right, a hiking date might just bloom into an epic story. There’s a couple romcom movies centered around hiking. If that’s not a good sign, I don't know what is.

Sip and Paint Date

Sip and Paint dates are all the rave right now, and that’s because they get the job done. It’s a super chill first date idea, there’s not a lot of pressure, and if you’re a shy person, you can blame your lack of eye contact on the painting. The great thing about it is that it creates an atmosphere where you can just be free, even if you’re extremely talentless in the painting department, your painting will somehow come out looking cute and probably show a lot of your personality.

Bowling Date

A bowling date is a perfect first date idea, assuming you know how to bowl and your date doesn’t, that way you could teach your date how to or even vice versa. On the off chance that you both can’t bowl and you still want to go ahead, think about it this way, it could either be a disaster or a moment that’s so embarrassingly cute and unforgettable.

Lunch Date

Lunch dates are not unique whatsoever, but for a first date, it’s not a bad idea, especially if you’d rather not do a dinner date on the first date. With a lunch date, you get to have more conversations, and there’s more eye contact and all of that. It allows you to assess faster if there’s a connection there or if you guys should just call it a day.

Open-Mic Night Date

Open Mic Nights could be a 50-50 situation, not everyone likes open mics, but it is worth the try. Whether it’s poetry, music, or even comedy. It’s the kind of date you’ll leave with cute anecdotes to tell the grandkids one day (yes, we’ve gone that far) but only because we have high hopes for you and your date.

Karaoke Date

Who doesn’t love Karaoke? It’s the only time your singing voice doesn’t sound creepy as hell, in fact, it  can come off a little bit cute, so you better go do your thing. This unlocks a level of intimacy that’s just indescribable, if you pick the perfect song and your date does the same, who knows, you might just leave feeling so in love.

Art Gallery Date

Ugh! Art…It’s perfect, you could even whip out a few cheesy lines about how your date is art. Art in its most natural form is subjective, so you don’t have to have the same taste as your date, but you for sure better have good taste if you want those points. An art gallery is the perfect balance between silence and a conversation, you don’t have to do too much, just make sure it’s not boring. You could also take pictures in the art gallery if it’s allowed, it could be Instagram worthy.

Beach Date

If you can, a beach date isn’t a terrible idea. There’s nothing like a cool breeze and a good view to bring on good vibes. You need to make sure your date will be comfortable with this idea, not everyone will appreciate the idea of having on less clothing on a first date.

Hit The Mall Date

Let’s go to the mall!! Mall dates are totally underrated in our opinion. Some of the best dates are as simple as a mall date, you walk around, hit different shops, buy a couple things here and there, stop to get something to eat if you can, it’s perfect in our opinion. If you guys hit it off, there might even be some hand holding by the end of it, you just never know.
