Upgraded
Upgraded is a 2024 romantic comedy starring Camilla Mendes and Archie Renaux. A match made in rom-com heaven if you ask me. This is the kind of swoon worthy romcom you need, picture this, an art intern on a last minute work trip to London, where she meets a charming stranger. Yes, we know, it’s awesome.
Anyone But You
Anyone But You is making everyone’s heart bleed, especially with the happy-go-lucky song we all know and love now. Bea and Ben have the cutest meet cute of all time, but then things take a turn and now they’re stuck at a destination wedding in Australia and things take an enthralling turn.
Which Brings Me To You
Jane and Will meet at a wedding and they instantly have a connection, but after a failed hookup sesh in a coat room, they spend an entire day rehashing their past relationships, and somehow, someway, it leads them back to each other.
The Incredible Jessica James
Jessica James is going through a breakup but that doesn’t stop her from making the most of her life. She meets Boone, and soon enough they make an agreement to help each other out in the post-breakup department. It is a lighthearted watch, and it will surely make you laugh if you’re single in this loved up world.
Nappily Ever After
Violet shaves her hair off after years and years of controlling her hair with flat irons and her life in general. This decision sets her off into making the biggest realization, she isn’t living her life the way she wants to.
Notting Hill
Notting Hill is one of those romcom classics that will have you quoting every line. By the end of this movie, you might either profess your love to someone you love or just be inspired to love your person even harder. Either way, it’s a win-win scenario. The story follows Anna Scott, a famous actress who falls in love with the owner of a bookstore, William, their story takes a turn but somehow they end up as loved up as ever.
Crazy Rich Asians
What happens when you find out that your partner actually belongs to one of the richest, most popular families in the country? Crazy Rich Asians follows Rachel as she meets Nick’s family. The intensity of it all is enough to make or break their entire relationship, and there’s some humor along the way as well.
Hitch
Will Smith’s romcom era certainly had us all in a loop. A professional dating expert has made it his goal in life to help men get the women of their dreams, soon enough, he meets his match, a gossip columnist that makes him question everything he thinks he knows about romance.
Set It Up
Two assistants that have the toughest bosses in the history of bosses, decide to set their bosses up on a date in New York, the chaos that ensues is pretty fun to watch, and by the end, you’ll definitely be wanting more.
One Day
If you’ve made it this far, you’re awesome! And you get something extra special. One Day isn’t under the romcom genre exactly, but we couldn’t make an entire romcom list without an honorary mention to the best romance show to come out of 2024 so far. Emma and Dexter have a ‘will-they-won’t-they’ love story that will have you on the edge of your seat. Their friendship and relationship spans over twenty years and up until the end, you will love every single bit of this show, even the parts that have you crying like a baby.
